Social Care Worker – Residential Service (Galway City)
A Residential Service in Galway City is seeking a qualified and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, supporting them to live fulfilling, self-directed lives.
We provide a range of high-quality supports including residential, day services, short breaks, community programmes, rehabilitative training, and therapeutic supports. Our work is guided by a strong commitment to person-centred care, autonomy, wellbeing, and inclusion.
The Role
The Social Care Worker will be responsible for delivering high-quality residential and respite supports within a professional care team. You will work in line with organisational policies, procedures, and the service’s Safety Statement, ensuring a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for the individuals we support.
Essential Criteria
A minimum Level 7 professional qualification in Applied Social Studies or a related field
CORU registration (or in process of registration)
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a related sector
A full, clean driving licence with access to your own vehicle
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Effective problem-solving abilities
A positive, energetic, and compassionate approach
Ability to advocate on behalf of the people you support
