About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Orthopaedic Registrar to join a dynamic and well-established orthopaedic team in a leading acute hospital in the West of Ireland.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to both elective and trauma orthopaedic patients. This position offers excellent clinical exposure, teaching, and research opportunities within a supportive training environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage orthopaedic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and theatre sessions.
Contribute to the management of trauma calls and emergency admissions.
Assist consultants in surgical procedures and postoperative care.
Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement, and teaching of junior staff and medical students.
Requirements
Full registration with (or eligibility for registration with) the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience, including prior orthopaedic or surgical exposure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong commitment to patient safety and continuous professional development.
Desirable Attributes
Previous experience in an Irish or UK hospital setting.
Interest in trauma and elective orthopaedics.
Demonstrated involvement in teaching, audit, or research.
