This is an opportunity to work in Palma Mallorca, Spain where you will be a Carer Health Care Assistant looking after a paralysed ALS/MND patient with tracheostomy on a mechanical ventilator. The family live in Mallorca, Spain and candidate must be willing to live abroad and travel from time to time to Ireland.

This Carer Health Care Assistant role is located Palma de Mallorca – Palma, a former Moorish casbah, or walled city.

Accommodation will be covered including the use of a car.
Role is a live-in position.

The successful candidate:

Will take over the administration and assist the patient with day to day matters such as dressing, eating, personal hygiene and movement.
Ideal candidate should be interested in reading ALS forums and keeping up to date with latest developments.
Experience with breathing apparatus such as Mechanical ventilator and cough assist but it is not a must.
A current drivers license is essential.
Mobility assistance – no lifting required as we use hoist to transport to wheel chair.
Driving when needed (
Assistance with mobile phones, laptops, EyeGaze. – help to write emails, make phone calls, shop online etc.
Massage and stretching to ease discomfort and encourage mobility.
Medications and nutrition – you will be required to administer daily medications and nutritional intake (via G-tube) as directed by a personal nurse.
You will be expected to have patients best interests in mind at all times.
Occasional night work.
You will receive training for how to handle mechanical ventilator and couch assist.
No need for previous experience with mechanical ventilation. You will receive full training
